Great interest in Volvo Penta at Australian Cotton Conference

Held on the Gold Coast in early August, Australia’s cotton producers, suppliers and manufacturers converged on the 2018 Australian Cotton Conference.  Volvo Penta invested in a corporate stand which was supported by Seamech, as the Queensland Industrial Centre and DieselGas from Moree.

“It was a very good event attracting around 2,500 delegates involved in the cotton business in Australia.  We had plenty of opportunity to speak with end users about their requirements and the feedback was resoundingly, Volvo Penta Industrial Engines are delivering,” explained Seamech’s General Manager, Andrew Cottle.

Just prior to the opening of the conference, Boyce Chartered Accountants released interim profit results for the Australian industry and the results were encouraging, up on 2017, driving the optimism on the Gold Coast.  The same report showed the impact of irrigation, pumps and the fuel to drive them; on average costing the industry $477 per hectare.

Market leading fuel efficiency

“Volvo Penta has some of the most fuel efficient industrial engines on the market.  Given the effort and costs to farmers to pump water to the crops, it is obvious why Volvo Penta is such an attractive engine in this industry” was the statement from Aaron Solomon at DieselGas.

Moree is one of the Australian centres for cotton production and Aaron and Donna Solomon of the local dealer, DieselGas, had travelled to join the greater Volvo Penta team.

“We had a lot of interest to the stand and had the opportunity to meet some growers who have over 20 Volvo Penta engines on their farm and have been doing so for 20 years.  We now have quite a few leads to follow up,” continued Aaron.

Seamech would like to congratulate Cotton Australia on a successful event and look forward to participating in 2020.
