Steve Wray, Dealer Principal, and Andrew Cottle, General Manager of Seamech recently undertook a tour of the 14 authorised Volvo Penta dealers throughout Queensland. The road trip started in the Cairns region and, aside from visiting existing dealers to provide product and industry updates, Steve and Andrew selected a new authorised Volvo Penta dealer, Port Douglas Marine Engineering, to support the growing North Queensland market.
Port Douglas has long been a mecca for tourists and boat owners looking to explore the World Heritage Daintree Rainforest, Hinchinbrook Island and Great Barrier Reef. With increased investment into marina and tourism infrastructure, the region’s boat population is growing and so is the demand for high quality support for the Volvo Penta range of products.
“Chris Wierzbowski and the team at Port Douglas Marine Engineering have the necessary skills, resources and experience to provide exceptional support to existing and future Volvo Penta clients in the Port Douglas region. With their main focus being marine tourism operators and boat owners, they will also support the areas increasing commercial clients,” explained Steve Wray.
Like other authorised dealers in the Volvo Penta network, Port Douglas Marine Engineering can supply engines, parts supported by service and warranty. They are also party to popular Volvo Penta Webshop which allows customers to purchase genuine Volvo Penta parts online any time of the day or night and by selecting, Port Douglas Marine Engineering, can access the full support of their technicians.
For the remainder of the state-wide tour, Steve and Andrew met with representatives of the authorised dealer network facilitating feedback from the market to Volvo Penta Oceania. It was also an opportunity for Seamech to impart industry updates to ensure Volvo Penta’s clients no matter where they are in Queensland, are kept up to date through their local dealer. Dealers were keen to the coming upgrades to Volvo Penta’s Webshop as well as the inclusion of Industrial engines and parts to their marine dealerships.
