Seamech has been assigned, effective immediately, as the Queensland Authorised Centre for Volvo Penta Industrial Products.
Based in the Brisbane suburb of Murarrie, Seamech is the Authorised Volvo Penta Centre for Marine and now is managing throughout Queensland the wholesaling of parts, engines, service, warranty and overseeing the dealer network for the Volvo Penta industrial product range.
Seamech has been involved with the Volvo Penta range of industrial and marine engines for over 20 years. The assignment of the industrial centreship will see the team providing support to farmers, mining outfits, generator OEMs and industrial equipment operators through a network of dealers.
“We will be utilising selected existing marine Authorised Volvo Penta dealers as well as expanding the network to include those dedicated to the needs of our industrial clients,” stated Mr Steve Wray, Managing Director and Dealer Principal of Seamech.
Volvo Penta has been manufacturing diesel engines for the global industrial market since 1946. Unlike other engine manufacturers, Volvo Penta partners with OEMs to supply the engine for the final piece of industrial equipment. With an emphasis on environmental sustainability and efficiency, Volvo Penta industrial engines can offer their owners significant cost savings through Stop/Start Technology, approval of hydro-treated vegetable oil (HVO) either neat or blended with diesel and market-leading technological advancements.
“Volvo Penta Industrial has an enormous global presence and the Queensland customers will benefit from that expertise. Seamech will be focusing on the agricultural, mining, materials handling and power generation sub-markets as they are most prevalent in our region,” explained Seamech General Manager, Mr Andrew Cottle.
“It is an obvious fit. The Seamech team are experts in Volvo Penta technology and systems. They have significant experience in the industrial sector and the company is one of the highest performing partners we have in the Asia Pacific region,” Mr Björn Säljö, Head of Volvo Penta Oceania, explained.
